KATHMANDU: A Food Festival is going to be organised in Lalitpur district from September 14 for attracting domestic and foreign tourists and promoting Nepali food.
At a news conference organised here on Thursday, it was informed that the Ritz Hospitality Management College, Lalitpur, is going to organise the one-day festival at the co-work of the Nepal Tourism Board at Jawalakhel-based football ground.
Bikas Shrestha, principal of the college, said that Newari food items would be the main attraction of the festival.
A total of 36 stalls of different food items of various communities would be put on display in the festival.
The organiser has expected that around 15,000 people would visit the festival. The festival would be started from 11:00 am -7:00 pm.
Shrestha said that a cultural programme including dance would also be organised to attract tourists.
The festival would help for the publicity of delicious food items having special identity and cultural importance of the country as well as help in promoting domestic and international tourism, according to the organiser.
